Electrochemical Reduction of Formic Acid on a Copper-Tin-Lead Cathode
The electrochemical reduction of formic acid in acidic solution (2 mol L HCl) on a Cu(88)Sn(6)Pb(6) cathode was studied. The main products of the reduction were methanol and ethanol having %Current Efficiencies (CEs) of 30.3 and 37.6% respectively at -0.8 V vs Ag/AgCl. Small amounts of methane and ethane were also detected. The rate of the reduction increased exponentially with the negative pot...
متن کاملInfluence of the concentration and the nature of the supporting electrolyte on the electrochemical reduction of nitrate on tin cathode
The influences of the potential, the concentration and the nature of the supporting electrolyte on the rate of the reduction of nitrate on tin were tudied by both voltammetry and constant potential electrolytic experiments. Both the rate of the reduction of nitrate and the yield of nitrogen increase as the negative potential increases from−1.8 to−2.8 V versus Ag/AgCl, hile the yield of nitrite ...

Effects of Solder Mask on Electrochemical Migration of Tin-Lead and Lead-Free Boards
Electrochemical migration (ECM) is the growth of conductive metal filaments on a printed circuit board (PCB) through an electrolyte solution under a DC voltage bias. ECM can cause a reduction in surface insulation resistance (SIR) between adjacent conductors, generate a path of leakage current, and lead to intermittent or catastrophic circuit failures. Solder mask has been widely used on printe...
متن کاملHierarchical Cu pillar electrodes for electrochemical CO2 reduction to formic acid with low overpotential.
To achieve high performance of electrochemical CO2 reduction, a series of Cu pillar electrodes (Cu-2.5 h, Cu-5 h) were fabricated by using an electrodeposition method, and then their catalytic activities and reaction mechanisms were investigated. The series of Cu pillar electrodes exhibited improved electrocatalytic activities toward CO2 reduction to formic acid (HCOOH) as Cu pillars on electro...
